    SPECIAL PERMISSIONS AND FUNCTIONALITY âš™ī¸

To provide advanced remote management and safety features, Xim Remote requires specific Android system permissions. We explain why we need them below: 🔍

    1. Remote Access & Surveillance (Camera & Microphone) đŸŽĨ

The app uses CAMERA and RECORD_AUDIO permissions to allow authorized users to remotely monitor their own devices or for parental control purposes. This data is transmitted securely via Firebase and is not shared with third parties. 🔒

    2. Accessibility Service (Addon Remote Control) 🎮

We use the ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE to enable remote screen interactions, such as performing clicks or gestures on the device from a remote location. This is essential for remote troubleshooting and device management. To enable remote control functionality, this app uses the Accessibility Service. This allows the user to interact with their device remotely (e.g., clicks, swipes, and long-presses) from the dashboard. This permission is only active during a user-initiated remote session and is strictly limited to facilitating remote navigation. đŸ–ąī¸

    3. Notification Permission (Background Visibility) 🔔

The POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission is used to display persistent notifications. This helps indicate that the app is running in the background, prevents the system from killing the process, and ensures the user is always aware of its activity. This approach improves transparency and keeps the app secure. đŸ“ĸ

    4. Stealth Mode & Icon Disguise (Launcher Aliases) 🎭

To protect the app from being tampered with, Xim Remote includes a "Stealth Mode" feature. This allows the app to hide its original icon from the launcher or change its appearance to dummy icons (e.g., Scanner, Health, or Compass). This is purely for the user's security and privacy. đŸ•ĩī¸

    5. Background Persistence (Foreground Services) âŗ

We use FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CAMERA, MICROPHONE, and MEDIA_PROJECTION to ensure that remote streaming continues even when the app is in the background or the screen is off. 🔋

    6. System Alert Window (Overlay) đŸ–ŧī¸

The SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW permission allows the app to display remote commands or status overlays over other apps, ensuring seamless control during a remote session. ⚡

    7. Boot Persistence 🔄

The RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED permission allows the app to automatically restart after a device reboot to maintain a continuous connection for security purposes. 🚀

    ANDROID PERMISSIONS DISCLOSURE đŸ“ĸ

To provide secure remote management and monitoring services, Xim Remote requires the following system permissions. We are committed to transparency regarding how your data is accessed: đŸ›Ąī¸

    1. Remote Surveillance & Monitoring 🔍

    • CAMERA & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CAMERA: Allows the app to access the device camera remotely for live monitoring or security captures, even when the app is in the background. 📸
    • RECORD_AUDIO & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE: Enables remote audio listening or recording for environmental monitoring via secure Firebase channels. 🎤
    • FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION: Used to capture and stream the device screen in real-time to the authorized controller. đŸ“ē

    2. Remote Control & System Access đŸ› ī¸

    • SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: Allows the app to display a remote control overlay or invisible windows to execute remote commands effectively. đŸ–Ĩī¸
    • REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES: Enables the user to remotely push and install necessary addon packages or updates to the target device. đŸ“Ļ
    • WAKE_LOCK: Ensures the device stays active during a remote session to prevent connection drops. 💡

    3. Connectivity & Data Management 🌐

    • INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to establish a connection with the Firebase backend and transmit data between devices. 📡
    • READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Allows the user to remotely manage, upload, or download files from the device's internal/external storage. 📁

    4. Persistence & Security đŸ›Ąī¸

    • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Ensures Xim Remote starts automatically when the phone is turned on, maintaining a constant link for parental control. 🔄
    • FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Keeps the app's core engine running reliably in the background without being killed by the system. âš™ī¸
    • REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS: Prevents the Android system from putting the app to sleep, which is critical for 24/7 remote accessibility. ⚡
    • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to show the required persistent notification for foreground services, informing the user that the service is active. 🔔

Note: All data collected through these permissions is transmitted directly to your personal Firebase database and is never shared with developers or any third parties. 🔐

    Clarification on Data Collection: 📎

    • All data refers only to content that you explicitly capture and send, such as images, videos, screen recordings, or camera streams. đŸŽŦ
    • Any data other than images and videos is stored temporarily and is automatically deleted immediately after it is sent and processed. 💨
    • Images and videos may be stored for a maximum of 1 Month. After this period, they are automatically deleted from storage. đŸ—“ī¸
    • You are responsible for downloading and keeping your own backup of any important images or videos before they are removed. 💾

At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognising and implementing DNT signals has been finalised. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice. đŸ•ĩī¸
